On February 21, 2014 Patti Moody and Cathy Maner shared their amazing journey at WBC’s “Girls Night Out – Radical: Rescued, Redeemed, Restored.” Their story touched us so deeply that we wanted to share it with you. The summary, recorded messages, and video slide show are provided below.
“Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future. Her fall was astounding; there was none to comfort her. Her teeth were broken and she was trampled in the dust. She was deprived of peace and had forgotten what prosperity is. Her splendor is gone and all that she had hoped from the Lord.” Lamentations 1:9; 3:16-18.
Hang on to your heart as you hear the radical true story of a woman from Atlanta. Patti had been an international model with her picture on the cover of Seventeen magazine, but some 30 years later had become homeless and hopeless—holding a sign at an off-ramp outside Atlanta, living in the woods, almost blind, broken teeth, lost from family, and without hope. But . . .
. . . because of 26-year old Mary Brantley Maner Nalley’s compassion, bravery and obedience to God, Patti was rescued, redeemed and restored. Mary Brantley and her mother, Cathy Maner, committed to the incredible risk of helping Patti. What happened next can only be described as “it was God.” Because with God all things are possible.
