SUZANNE CROCKER
Author of Pig in a Taxi, speaker, missionary wife
Column: Women’s Devotional Thought
Suzanne Crocker’s column reflects her passion as a missionaries’ wife and the sense of humor that helped her through many trials. She and her husband were IMB (International Mission Board) missionaries to Africa for 10 years. Her husband, John, is now our Missions minister here at Whitesburg Baptist Church. A mother of four beautiful children, ages 5 to 16, Suzanne often writes about family life and has a knack for provoking thought, and it’s obvious she’s still on Mission for Christ!Pig in a Taxi is a terrific book about her families’ adventures and trials out on the field in Africa. Once you read this book, you will understand better how to pray for missionaries, what it takes to be “out there,” and, hopefully, inspired to become a missionary right where you live. Suzanne graduated from Samford University with a nursing degree, some classes at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and Columbia Graduate School of Mission as preparation for their African assignment. Creative Writing was always one of Suzanne’s passions. You can contact Suzanne for speaking engagements at johnsuzannecrocker@hotmail.com and purchase her book at Lifeway and Barnes and Noble, or in our WBC Resource Center on Sundays. HAROLD & BETTE GILLOGLY
GTO ministries
www.marriages.net Column: Marriage Advice
Harold and Bette have been allowing us to use their marriage advice tips for several years. Their articles are full of practical and biblical tips and good examples, some personal, on jsut how to form a godly union between partners. They have a very practical, down-to-earth style you will find very refreshing and challenging. Harold and Bette Gillogly were married shortly after his graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy. Harold served five years of active duty in the Navy, and he and Bette were involved in home Bible studies with other couples wherever they were stationed. In fact, since their marriage in 1966, Harold and Bette have ministered to couples in many different settings, such as Sunday School, home study groups, and couples seeking counsel and advice. Sensing God's leading into ministry, Harold resigned his Navy commission in 1971. He graduated from Conservative Baptist Seminary in Denver, Colorado in 1974 with a Master’s degree in Christian Education. They were immediately called to a church in Thousand Oaks, California as Minister of Christian Education. Their ministry to couples expanded after they helped plant New Hope Baptist Church in San Diego, California. They approached the pastor about the need for a marriage enrichment conference and he challenged them to develop one for the church. Their first Marriage Enrichment Conference was held in 1983 with couples from their Church. With each succeeding year, the conferences for New Hope developed and grew. These were the beginnings of the future ministry of GTO (Growing Toward Oneness) Family Ministries. The Gillogly’s have led hundreds of conferences, seminars and coun¬seling sessions for men, women and couples. Each year, they conduct about twenty conferences around the country, speaking to thousands of couples. They see marriages on the brink restored, relationships revitalized, husbands committing to spiritual leadership in the home, and new professions of faith in Christ. They are currently recruiting and training other couples to share in the teaching opportunities. Another part of their ministry is producing practical Biblical materials on marriage: a quarterly newsletter and marriage enrichment article for over 1500 families, a quarterly newsletter for over 500 pastors and teachers of couples, a monthly email newsletter, and articles for Christian magazines. They have written two books: Achieving God’s Design for Marriage, a marriage enrichment curriculum used in churches around the United States, as well as some foreign countries and Experiencing Oneness, an interactive Biblical study designed to help individual couples grow in their relationship according to God’s Word. They also have a tape series on sexual intimacy. CHARLES HOLLEY

Money management expert, author, syndicated radio personality
www.daveramsey.com Column: Dave Says - Financial
Dave Ramsey is an extremely popular national radio personality and best-selling author of The Total Money Makeover. In his latest book, a follow-up of his enormously successful New York Times best-sellers Financial Peace and More Than Enough, Ramsey exemplifies his life’s work of teaching others how to be financially responsible, so they can acquire enough wealth to take care of loved ones, live prosperously into old age, and give generously to others.Dave Says is a syndicated column with a readership of over 4, 500,000. Since The Huntsville Times decided to cut his column out of our local paper, we are graciously allowed to include it free in our newspaper. What a blessing this column is-Dave has a practical, get down to business, style and covers a gamut of questions from readers. Trying to choose one or two of his weekly columns to include is always a huge challenge. Ramsey knows first-hand what financial peace means in his own life – living a true rags-to-riches-to-rags-to-riches story. By age twenty-six he had established a four-million-dollar real estate portfolio, only to lose it by age thirty. He has since rebuilt his financial life and now devotes himself full-time to helping ordinary people understand the forces behind their financial distress and how to set things right – financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Ramsey offers life-changing financial advice as host of a nationally syndicated radio program, "The Dave Ramsey Show," which is heard by more than 3.5 million listeners each week, on more than 350 radio stations throughout the United States. Ramsey is the creator of Financial Peace University (FPU), a thirteen-week program that helps people dump their debt, get control of their money, and learn new behaviors around money that are founded on commitment and accountability. More than 650,000 families have attended FPU classes at their workplace, church, military base, local nonprofit organization, community group or Spanish speaking organization. The average family pays off $5,300 in debt and saves $2,700 in the first 91 days after beginning FPU and is completely out of debt, except for the mortgage, in 18 to 24 months. We regularly have 30 to 40 people taking the FPU classes here at WBC. They are indeed life-changing! On Oct. 15, 2007, Ramsey added television host to title when "The Dave Ramsey Show on Fox Business Network" debuted nationally. Ramsey earned his B.S. degree in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Tennessee. A frequent speaker around the country at large-scale live events, Ramsey is a passionate and inspiring presenter who is at ease on both sides of the mike. More than 450,000 people have attended Ramsey's LIVE events. DR. DICK THOMASSIAN
