One of our newer guest columnists are Dale & Jena Forehand, also head of Stained Glass Ministries dedicated to shedding the light of Christ on all of life’s relationships.  Through their ministry, the hope to enlighten, empower and equip individuals to walk with God, exhibiting HIS glory in their lives and relationships.

Through Stained Glass Ministries, Dale and Jena have conducted marriage conferences all across the country, and are regular keynote speakers for LifeWay’s Festivals of Marriage. They have been featured on the cover of LifeWay’s HomeLife Magazine, CBN’s The 700 Club, published Stained Glass Marriage (April 2003), and have produced several devotional materials including the Authenticity CD Series and the newly released Authentic Woman , a 40-DAY Devotional Bible Study.

Column: Marriage Advice

Harold and Bette have been allowing us to use their marriage advice tips for several years.  Their articles are full of practical and biblical tips and good examples, some personal, on jsut how to form a godly union between partners.  They have a very practical, down-to-earth style you will find very refreshing and challenging.

Harold and Bette Gillogly were married shortly after his graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy.  Harold served five years of active duty in the Navy, and he and Bette were involved in home Bible studies with other couples wherever they were stationed. In fact, since their marriage in 1966, Harold and Bette have ministered to couples in many different settings, such as Sunday School, home study groups, and couples seeking counsel and advice.  Sensing God's leading into ministry, Harold resigned his Navy commission in 1971.  He graduated from Conservative Baptist Seminary in Denver, Colorado in 1974 with a Master’s degree in Christian Education.  They were immediately called to a church in Thousand Oaks, California as Minister of Christian Education.

Their ministry to couples expanded after they helped plant New Hope Baptist Church in San Diego, California.  They approached the pastor about the need for a marriage enrichment conference and he challenged them to develop one for the church.  Their first Marriage Enrichment Conference was held in 1983 with couples from their Church.  With each succeeding year, the conferences for New Hope developed and grew.  These were the beginnings of the future ministry of GTO (Growing Toward Oneness) Family Ministries.

The Gillogly’s have led hundreds of conferences, seminars and coun¬seling sessions for men, women and couples. Each year, they conduct about twenty conferences around the country, speaking to thousands of couples.  They see marriages on the brink restored, relationships revitalized, husbands committing to spiritual leadership in the home, and new professions of faith in Christ.  They are currently recruiting and training other couples to share in the teaching opportunities.  

Another part of their ministry is producing practical Biblical materials on marriage:  a quarterly newsletter and marriage enrichment article for over 1500 families, a quarterly newsletter for over 500 pastors and teachers of couples, a monthly email newsletter, and articles for Christian magazines.  They have written two books: Achieving God’s Design for Marriage, a marriage enrichment curriculum used in churches around the United States, as well as some foreign countries and Experiencing Oneness, an interactive Biblical study designed to help individual couples grow in their relationship according to God’s Word.  They also have a tape series on sexual intimacy.

Column: Devotional Thought

CL Holley is a Preacher, Speaker, and Teacher whose strongest area of spiritual gifts is exhortation. He communicates the word of God clearly and effectively whether in spoken or written form. He has a concise, compassionate style, often including believable dialog in his devotions.  Each short devotion ends with a prayer.  Choosing one of Charles Holley’s weekly devotionals is often difficult.  To get more, go to his website and sign up!

Charles L. Holley is an ordained minister who currently serves as an Associate for Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville Alabama. He has a B.S. from UAH and is pursing a Masters of Biblical Counseling at the Whitesburg Heritage Bible College here at WBC.

He is also President and CEO of CL Holley Ministries, a ministry that assists Pastors and their congregations by providing various programs, material, and workshops for men, women, and youth. Some of the topics are Christian Grief Support, Developing a Giver’s Heart, Developing a Worshiper’s Heart, Walking through Forgiveness, No More Tears (for women), and others.
